Southside Footy is Polk County’s premier soccer facility located minutes from the Polk Parkway, in the Imperial industrial district. Here you can enjoy everything from pick up soccer, leagues, and tournaments suitable for all ages and levels, to party and event rentals. ALEXI CORTEZ: OPERATOR

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, to a hard-working blue-collar family. Alexi started playing soccer at the age of 5 and has been in love with the sport ever since. He played most sports, basketball, football, and baseball, but soccer was always number one. By age 12 Alexi had set his mind on playing college and professional soccer. After playing at local clubs Strictly Soccer and Tampa Bay United, Alexi earned a full scholarship to Jacksonville University. After spending one season at JU, Alexi decided to transfer to Florida Southern College. After playing three seasons with the Mocs and earning a degree in Biology, he was offered a professional contract with the Lakeland Tropics. During his time with the Tropics, Alexi also earned a Masters of Exercise Science degree from the University of South Florida. Now Alexi is the owner and operator of Impact Sports Academy. Soccer is not some sport Alexi plays or coaches. It is his lifestyle and he wants to share his passion and knowledge of the game with everyone.
